Cardona

Cardona is Idaho’s first US Green Building Council LEED for Homes Platinum-certified development, located in Chubbuck, Idaho at 4846 Hawthorne Road. Cardona Senior Apartments set the standard for environmentally sensitive apartment living in the Gem State.

Cardona provides affordable, senior, independent living with 48 one and two bedroom apartments and community center. Completed in 2009, the community received LEED Platinum certification in 2010.

Energy efficiency and conservation are integral to Cardona’s design. The site was selected for proximity to existing development and community resources, and it incorporates landscape design strategies to minimize water use. Cardona also boasts elements like high efficiency plumbing fixtures, fluorescent lighting and Energy Star-rated appliances. Using energy efficient windows and smart insulation choices, Cardona exceeds current energy code performance requirements by more than 30 percent.
